10-Ton Direct Cooling Block Ice Machine
ICEMA-BMB100 is a heavy-duty 10-ton direct cooling block ice system built for industrial users with growing cooling loads. Producing dense blocks with minimal air entrapment, the machine is optimized for chemical process cooling, large-scale fish marketing, and ice distribution centers. The BMB100 introduces a modular evaporator design that can be serviced without a complete plant shutdown, maximizing uptime.
The BMB100 is a workhorse capable of nonstop operation across multiple shifts. At its core is a cold-rolled, stress-relieved direct expansion plate evaporator, with a separate collection tank for melt water recycling. The unit is shipped as pre-assembled modules (compressor rack, evaporator section, and control cabinet) to accelerate commissioning. All liquid-facing lines are insulated in a closed-cell foam to prevent sweating and energy loss in high-humidity environments.
Unlike flood-type systems, the direct cooling plates form ice directly on the refrigerant side without a secondary coolant. Heat transfer is exceptionally efficient. When the block reaches the programmed thickness, the controller sequences automatic draining of unfrozen water, then triggers hot-gas bypass defrost. Block ice discharges into a cushioned receiving bin to prevent breakage. The control algorithm enables staggered harvesting of plate groups, ensuring that the compressor never runs unloaded.
This machine integrates a Bitzer reciprocating semi-hermetic compressor and a high-capacity tube-in-tube condenser for fast heat rejection. The PLC features remote monitoring via RS485, allowing operators to view suction/discharge pressures, ice production logs, and fault history from a smartphone. A 3-stage water filtration system with UV sterilization is standard, making the ice compliant with HACCP. Custom voltage configurations (e.g., 460V/60Hz) and containerized options for outdoor installation are available.

Large block ice melts slowly, maintaining low temperatures in fishing holds or trading pools for 3~5 days, suitable for centralized ice use on ships or docks.

Place large ice blocks in the workshop during summer to continuously cool using high latent heat, with no wind chill, suitable for meat processing plants and dairy factories.

Crush large ice blocks into ice shavings during mixing; large blocks are easy to transport and store, with high direct cooling efficiency to meet the ice demand for engineering volumes.

Block ice combined with cold fans is used for rapid pre-cooling in the field to prevent respiratory heat accumulation.
