15-Ton Direct Cooling Block Ice Machine
ICEMA-BMB150 is a high-output direct cooling block ice machine rated at 15,000 kg per day. Engineered for demanding infrastructure - such as large concrete pour cooling, remote mine site catering, and harbor ice supply - it delivers extra-hard, long-lasting block ice using a low-temperature refrigeration circuit and reinforced structural frame. The system is built for extended field life with minimal degradation.
The BMB150 is designed for the toughest environments, incorporating heavy-gauge 304 stainless steel water-contact parts as standard to resist aggressive feed water (borehole, brackish, or chlorinated). The direct-expansion plates are thicker and structurally ribbed, allowing an ice load of up to 25 kg per block. A custom-profile hot gas defrost manifold ensures uniform defrosting across all plates, preventing thermal stress cracks in the slab. The machine can be delivered as a split unit for elevated installations.
Plate evaporators are arranged in two independent banks that can operate simultaneously or in phased rotation. During the freeze cycle, a sub-cooled liquid refrigerant feed maintains a deep evaporating temperature, creating extremely hard ice at around -10°C core temperature. At harvest, high-pressure hot gas first pre-heats the plates via a cascade bypass, then full gas defrost releases the blocks in less than 3 minutes. Dual condensers (one per bank) ensure stable head pressure.
The BMB150 uses a Bitzer open-type screw compressor with an integrated oil separator and economizer for high ambient performance. The control system incorporates vibration and bearing temperature sensors, transmitting early warnings to the maintenance team through the HMI. A unique “self-cleaning condenser” program reverses water flow periodically to flush tubes, which reduces bio-fouling in tropical waters. Power supply is 380V/50Hz/3P, with CE certifications, and custom containerized turnkey packages can include block ice crushers and ice storage rakes.

Large block ice melts slowly, maintaining low temperatures in fishing holds or trading pools for 3~5 days, suitable for centralized ice use on ships or docks.

Place large ice blocks in the workshop during summer to continuously cool using high latent heat, with no wind chill, suitable for meat processing plants and dairy factories.

Crush large ice blocks into ice shavings during mixing; large blocks are easy to transport and store, with high direct cooling efficiency to meet the ice demand for engineering volumes.

Block ice combined with cold fans is used for rapid pre-cooling in the field to prevent respiratory heat accumulation.
